We only accept a small number of retainer clients to ensure you receive VIP treatment. We put aside a set amount of priority hours each month specifically for retainer clients.  By securing a retainer package, you are guaranteed a higher priority when scheduling projects.  You will also receive monthly reports to see how your hours were spent and reminders when you have time to use up.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DOES BILLING WORK?

Contracts are paid in advance at the beginning of each month via autopayment. Other payment options are also available if need be. Monthly retainers are available on 3-month and 6-month contracts depending on the package. Time is deducted from the retainer as work is performed. All work is tracked and itemized to show usage, you’ll get a report each month to show how much time was spent.

WILL UNUSED HOURS BE ROLLED OVER TO THE NEXT MONTH?

We’ll do our best to make sure you’re up-to-date with the status of your project hours, but it is up to you to make sure they are used within the monthly time frame. Unfortunately, any hours left over at the end of the month are forfeited unless agreed upon in advance. *Exceptions can be made to roll over a set amount of hours for upcoming projects that may need them for a limit of ONE time within your 3-6 month contract.

WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS ARE INCLUDED?

  • Collateral design: brochures, business cards, postcards, booklets, rack cards, menus, flyers, roll-up banners, signage, posters, etc.
  • Digital design: social media sharing graphics, cover photos, email templates, online ads, blog post and images for use on your website
  • Consultation services & meetings: helping you brainstorm design or marketing ideas for your project
  • Newsletter Services: MailChimp newsletter creation and adding content/images to newsletter monthly

WhAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME TO GET STARTED?

Ideally, we would start by gathering your logo [and all variations and file types of your logo] as well as your brand colours and fonts.

This will allow us to make and maintain your Client Profile to ensure that your collateral remains consistent, cohesive and all in one easy-to-find spot.

WhAT'S NOT INCLUDED?

Logos & branding services, website design, printing services, content writing, photography, photo retouching, cost of stock photography/images and fonts are not included.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A PROJECT TO BE WORKED ON EACH MONTH?

You can request new projects or work via email or through our client project board (I can set you up with a login and walk you through it!). Please allow 2-3 business days to complete small [less than 5 hours] projects.

For larger projects or if you want to plan ahead [recommended], please allow at least 7 days notice. Retainer clients do have priority but planning in advance will allow us to clear our schedules adequately for you.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED MORE TIME?

If you need more hours one month than you have in the retainer, we will bill you for the additional hours at the same discounted rate as the retainer. For example: if you have a 5-hour retainer but need 7 hours one month, we will bill you the extra 2 hours at the discounted rate. 

how long WILL MY project take?

Without any details, it’s difficult to determine how long a design will take to complete, however, the figures below offer a rough estimate for some of the most commonly asked for designs. Depending on the complexity of the design, if I’m required to find stock photography/custom fonts or remove backgrounds from photos, it may take more time than what is estimated below. *Once project details are provided, I can provide a more accurate timeframe.  

  • Postcards, rack cards & flyers: approx. 3-5 hours
  • Social media/blog graphics & timeline covers: approx. 1-2 hours
  • Mailchimp newsletter creation: approx. 4-6 hours
  • 3-5 page Workbook: approx. 4-6 hours 
  • Roll-up Banner: approx. 4-6 hours
  • Double-sided business cards: approx. 2 hours
  • Magazine ad: approx. 3-5 hours
  • Menu: approx. 3-6 hours but this can vary greatly based on # of items, pages and size

WhAT IF MY ITEM IS NOT LISTED ABOVE? HOW WILL I KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE?

Before starting any project, I will provide an estimate. If the project takes more or less time than anticipated, I will communicate that every step of the way.

You will also have access to a report of your time remaining each month.
